COURSE INFO

DESCRIPTION

The McMurry Ranch is private property. No pre-rides are permitted prior to race weekend. Following the race day, everyone must be off the McMurry Ranch race venue property by 6:30pm.

Absolutely NO warm-up is allowed on CR 162, Chalk Creek Rd. A 1.4 mile warm-up area is available on-site.

The Chalk Creek Stampede is located at the base of Mount Princeton on the McMurry Land & Livestock Co. The course is a 6.7-mile loop with 443 feet of climbing per lap.. Running counter-clockwise, the course includes an initial double-track climb from the ranch’s flat grazing area, singletrack along a picturesque plateau, and a rocky technical descent to Chalk Creek where singletrack trail meanders through aspen and cottonwood groves. The return to the venue is a fast double-track mixed with a few flowing singletrack sections. There are cactus that lines the course so please prepare accordingly. Special thanks to Buena Vista Coach Taf McMurry for her course and venue design and to the McMurry Ranch & Livestock Co.
