location

NO Dogs Allowed

Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley Campus

3000 CO Rd 114

Glenwood Springs, CO 81601

This is a dog-free campus. There is a Vet Tech facility which is a working farm. Having dogs around livestock is undesirable and potentially dangerous for both species.

Spring Valley Campus borders BLM and the Colorado Division of Wildlife/ Parks and Wildlife identifies our 811 acres as critical elk migration habitat. There are seasonal trail closures each winter. Dogs pose a danger to cyclists whether on- or off-leash and their waste is a health hazard.

Pet Boarding Options

Please check COtrip for the most up-to-date road conditions.

COURSE INFO

The Spring Valley Shuffle is located at Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley at Glenwood Springs. The Spring Valley Trail System offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain.

The course is a 5.6 mile loop with 653 feet of climbing per lap. Running clockwise the course includes a grass start and doubletrack climb from the Colorado Mountain College campus. Riders will reach Spring Valley Summit and begin descending Dreamer, a flowy singletrack bringing riders back toward the venue. The course makes a hard left onto Swoop’s Loop, another fast singletrack section. Riders will then turn left onto East Ridge Loop where they will have a few opportunities to pass before descending three switchbacks and rejoining Swoop’s Loop. The final section of the course includes a mix of singletrack and doubletrack climbs amongst piñon and sagebrush before finishing back on the Colorado Mountain College campus.
