What is Middle School Mayhem?

Middle School Mayhem (MSM) is an exciting, fun, and challenging mountain bike race series designed specifically for middle school athletes. These events bring all the energy and excitement of our high school races — with a course tailored for younger riders.

MSM features a shorter, modified course that gives 7th and 8th graders the perfect introduction to competitive mountain biking. Each race is a timed event on a dedicated course, giving middle schoolers their own podium moment and a taste of what the high school league is all about.

Whether you’re brand-new to racing or have been shredding trails for years, MSM is the place to test your skills, make new friends, and discover your love for the sport.

MODIFIED COURSE

Shorter, purpose-built course designed for middle school athletes — all the fun, right-sized challenge.

TIMED EVENT

Full race format with official timing, results, and dedicated podium ceremonies just for MSM riders.

4 RACES

Compete in one race or all four each event counts independently so you can join at any point in the season.

EAGLE, CO

All 2026 MSM events take place in scenic Eagle, CO — first event of the day with the full league atmosphere.

Eligibility

Middle School Mayhem is open to middle school students across Colorado and neighboring states. Here’s what you need to know to be eligible:

  • Currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade

  • Attending a middle school in Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, or New Mexico

  • OR affiliated with a Colorado League team (even if your school is outside those states)

  • No prior racing experience required, all skill levels welcome!

  • Race one event or all four — your choice

Where & When

All four Middle School Mayhem events take place in Eagle, Colorado. MSM races are the first event of the day, so plan to arrive early and stay to cheer on the high school athletes too!

REGISTRATION & PRICING

Registration is handled through CCNBikes — the official race registration platform for the Colorado League. You can register for individual races or sign up for the full series.

TEAM-AFFILIATED RIDER

$20

Per race. Rider must be registered with a Colorado League team.

UNAFFILIATED RIDER

$40

Per race. Open to eligible middle schoolers not currently on a league team.
