Fostering the Future Through Unified Strategy

The Youth Cycling Growth Initiative brings together program leaders, coaches, event directors, and athletes for a focused roundtable on creating new structures for youth cycling growth — presented by the Colorado High School Cycling League with support from the GoPro Mountain Games.

Join Colorado League Executive Director Chris McGee and GoPro Mountain Games Field Rep Jon Tarkington for a discussion on organizational collaboration that provides greater continuity for athletes and broader participation across the sport.

Together, our sport can unify to improve outcomes for the long-term health and wellness of thousands of student-athletes.

CAST A WIDER NET

Expanding interscholastic involvement to middle school to bring more young riders into the sport earlier.

SUPPORT CORE

Strengthening the experience between interscholastic and club programs during the high school years.

SUCCESS PATHWAY

Developing metrics beyond race results to build healthy, productive, lifelong athletes from middle school to college.

The Youth Cycling Growth Initiative roundtable is open to anyone invested in the future of youth cycling. If you work with, lead, or have been part of a youth cycling program, we want you in the room.

Program leaders and/or lead coaches in youth and collegiate cycling programs
Board members of youth cycling organizations
Graduates of youth cycling programs
Event directors who offer and focus on young athletes
Current collegiate cycling athletes with high school experience in any sport

About GoPro Mountain Games

The GoPro Mountain Games is dedicated to growing the next generation of riders through Grom initiatives developed for youth ages 12–18. By increasing youth categories and expanding bike competitions — including XC short track, XC mountain biking, dual slalom, road bike hill climb, and kids bike races — the Games creates more opportunities for young athletes.

Held every June in Vail as a kickoff to the summer season, the GoPro Mountain Games is one of the premier celebrations of mountain sports and outdoor culture, bringing together professional and amateur athletes from around the world.
