The second round of the Colorado High School League Bike Library awarded a new crop of student- athletes with Yeti ARC mountain bikes to ride for the 2026 season. The Bike Library is a collaboration between The League, The Pro’s Closet, and Yeti Cycles, with the intention of lowering the barrier to entry to mountain biking by providing top-quality gear to each student-athlete accepted to the program.

First-round student-athletes received their bikes back in June, while the most recent crop of athletes took possession of their race packages August 22nd at The Pro’s Closet headquarters in Thornton, Colorado.

The program has established itself as a unique opportunity to support student-athletes in new and unique ways. Its founding was a coordinated partnership between The Colorado League, The Pro’s Closet, and Yeti Cycles, each contributing with the sole intent of opening wide the doors of the cycling community to those most in need of a welcome.

Student-Athletes get the goods

The Yeti ARC mountain bikes the student-athletes received were certainly the main attraction. But several other Colorado High School League partners pitched in to ensure each student-athlete approached the race season fully kitted with the essentials — all to keep.

6D Helmets donated helmets to each athlete. To complement the new lids, Optic Nerve outfitted each recipient with sunglasses, and Hestra provided a pair of gloves each. VC Graphix created custom name stickers too.

The New Bike Day event brought each student-athlete and their families and friends to The Pro’s Closet for refreshments, a tour of the facility, and a celebration of all the new gear and goodies the athletes were receiving.

“The Colorado League Bike Library powered by The Pro’s Closet and Yeti Cycles represents the best in collaboration and shows what can be accomplished when we all work together,” said Chris McGee, The League’s Executive Director. “We were able to create this program in such a way that the organizations have contributed in the manner that suits their business models and strengths. This has provided the best outcome for our student-athletes and families: brand new bikes that are professionally assembled and free protection equipment from our other program partners. The Bike Library puts more kids on bikes in one of the country’s most inclusive and positive sporting environments.”

Real impact for real athletes

The first round of Bike Library recipients have already been putting their bikes and gear to good use. And the feedback from student-athletes and their parents and coaches has been overwhelmingly positive.

As coaches, watching riders achieve new heights is incredibly rewarding. The Bike Library helps remove barriers and gives Dawson an opportunity to expand his skills and experience practice and racing without fear of mechanical or gear failure.
